Neo Tells Men To accept that a Man Will Still Cheat
he wrote
Music provides identity and the opportunity to tell others who you are. Music often provides a ritual function, either in the context of religion or in secular. Music has a profound influence on society, shaping our beliefs, attitudes, and values. Music has the power to evoke emotions, inspire movements, and reflect the social and political climate. And all is this is what I have grown up knowing and appreciating about music, however today we seem to be hypocritical in our critic of music and arts. And I figured I share where I draw some of my inspiration.
The music that gave birth to our current music generation was about real-life situations, trends, teachings, warnings, and even deliverance, among other things. The likes of #PKChishala, #PaulNgozi, #AngelaNyirenda, #BalladZulu, #JK, #KMillian among the many icons of this land all gave us these kinds of songs inspired by the situations and circumstances that surrounded them and they where applauded and appreciated for it. These are songs I grew up listening to and learning from.
However, I see that this generation is selective in their critic of our arts as they don’t want to stomach the truth about most of the pieces we put out. We have people who act holy on social media and make artists like myself, among others look like we are the bad guys. The case of my lead song #AfterGodFearMen, the lyrics in that sing are in no way encouraging adultery because the opposite is actually true. I have been criticised and condemned for this song by the same society with thousands of divorce cases every year. Look at the number of heartbreak stories on social media every day as a result of cheating. In my line of work yes we will add a little drama here and there and the whole notion of “Umwaume Temunobe” is one that has been there for edges and just cause I put it in a song I am crucified for it. Lets be logical and understand that this is a very educational song that reminds people to guard themselves even as they commit in relationships, whether male or female. The nature of being unappreciative and ungrateful is in all of us both Men & Women, and we keep hurting our loved ones each day, unfortunate for some their errors make it to social media but for most, its hidden but that doesn’t make you holier than others.
LET’S LEARN TO ACCCEPT THE TRUTH
